Does your Substack club membership include access to the previous club videos that are on YouTube? I had always meant to join the YouTube club and looked forward to browsing those videos I had missed, especially regarding your studio build.
If I were you I’d join the old YouTube club and binge the old material and when you’ve finished leave the old youtube club and come here where there’s more, more varied content and the lives are great fun and informative x
I love this. So wholesome and lovely! I’m not a flower farmer, but I love flowers and as soon as I stumbled upon this page, I felt joy 🥰 thanks for being here.
When writing a post along the top of the screen there are images of earphones and camera and chain links - click on chain links and you can add a link x
I do love learning to do a new thing I will admit - and it’s fun and much more versatile than the old ‘tube, and with the other platforms all clearly fighting one another for airtime by using we the posters as click bait, and with people like me not being very click baity then Substack feels like a less reactive and more proactive place… so far xxx
Totally! The constant battle for attention on other platforms turns creating into some kind of 24/7 interpretative dance performance, 🕺🏽 which frankly, is exhausting. 😴🤣
Right now (at least), Substack feels like a bit of an exhale. Less urgency, more depth. And that’s definitely the kind of place I want to create from, and your beautiful flowers will be so appreciated here in this space. 🌸🌾 xx
Thanks so much for sharing all this Georgie! I didn't know about Substack until you shared about it on your YouTube channel a few months ago.
Of course I immediately checked it out to keep.up with your adventures. That first hop into Substack lasted over an hour!!! Why? I wasn't scrolling but READING!
My pre-flower farm life was in global women's history pursuing a PhD. (Thank goodness the winds shifted on that trip! 😂) Anyways reading and really connecting with others was not happening on the social media for me either.
Substack has been nothing short of a revolution for me to share my farm and make lots of new pals!
So thank you Georgie for sharing your jump to Substack and introducing me to so many new pals!
PS- Teacake sitting on your boot was a big smile maker in my family!
glad you're enjoying it too - I will admit i'm much more of a reader and I do like a longer form piece where someone has space to lay out their stall and discuss their point of view - and I LOVE that then those pieces can be recorded so I can listen if I'm up the field or walking the dog or driving or something.
Thank you for this - really encouraging. I started dabbling with Substack a year ago but lost heart as I didn't feel I understood it enough to make the most of it. Now want to give it another go ! Can you recommend the best way of getting a useful rundown of how to use it for a cook and aspiring writer who finds the 'tech' a bit daunting ? 🙄
Hi Georgie, I do not find that you wearing the airpods makes any difference to the sound. Maybe others can let you know what they think/ But if the airpods are not working for sound then you would not to be bothered by wearing them!
It's such a great place to be for so many reasons. isn't it
loving it - need to work out how to get filmed clips to load without a kind of washed out look tho… x

I hope so. I’m just working on setting it up now. Cannot work out how to add ‘links’ 🤦♀️

I share your concern re social media, so it's reassuring to find an alternative. Thank you for leading the way, as always.
I hear and understand your frustrations. What we do is more than a fleeting photo, it's an entire explanation, video and even podcast!
I need to move here more! It’s such a great space to be.

I thought exactly the same today.
Thanks for this Georgie - extremely helpful
