Live chat with marketing consultant Frou McGarey of @herlifefirstbusiness
Live discussion for our paid subscribers on Thursday 19th June 5pm and available afterwards as a recording - set reminders on your calendars friends x
I’m very excited to share that we have a live discussion for paid subscribers with marketing consultant
on Thursday 19th June at 5pm UK time. Frou and I met over social media and a little mentoring last summer and it was Frou, among a few others, who really encouraged me to move my newsletter and club over to Substack, so I have a good deal to thank her for.It seems apt then that she should be the first to feature in what I hope will become a regular spot with guest experts to be invited to be interviewed on our Live Chats at 5pm on Thursdays during term time. We had a great catch up yesterday and I said I’d send her the list of questions I’d like to use as a jump off point for our discussion - I have lots! and I hope you all will add your questions too so we can include some of them as well.
Having sent her the list of topics I’d like to discuss I thought I’d post them here so that you can see which areas of marketing and social media for small business we plan to talk about, as well as add your suggestions for topics we could chat about.
So here we go:
Frou, I’ve thought of a few questions which are really jumping off points. Do take them in any direction your like. As I said, most of the club members are first interested in flower growing, secondly running micro businesses, thirdly possibly selling the flowers they grow, club members are nearly always very creative, and sometimes are still dreaming of taking the leap into a lifestyle business but haven’t been able to yet.
I think the questions can take maybe about 5 minutes each to chat about – but this isn’t set in stone.
1 Can you tell us a little about your background and how you became a marketing consultant – or do you have a better way you’d like to describe your job?
2 Why do you think there’s a market for a business like yours aimed at helping people to run businesses according to the demands of life rather than the business. Who is your customer?
3 Are marketing and branding exercises useful even to a tiny little business and why?
4 How do you think small and micro businesses can use social media going forward? Do Insta, FB and co have the same pull they used to or are they operating in too huge a space to be useful to small businesses now, especially businesses with a very local customer base? Are they too self-serving?
5 Can you tell us a little bit about cross platform sharing? Is AI any use? How can we small business owners operate in a time efficient and effective way across several platforms? Or should we not bother?
6 Can you suggest three most important things a small brand should share about itself, where, and how often?
7 Filmed content v audio v images v words in marketing – just a jump off for discussion.
Then we have time for questions submitted by club members.
8 Rounding up with a few top tips for small business owners re marketing their brand going forward.?
I’m so looking forward to our conversation and I hope you Clubbers are too.
See you Thursday everyone - set your timers it’s going to be a great session.
So honoured to be part of this beautiful community, Georgie 💛 Your words (and your work!) always remind me that doing business differently isn’t just possible, it’s powerful. I can’t wait for our chat and to connect with everyone inside the Club 🌿
